Bamboo Health provides a series of indicators that may be automatically returned to the requesting system as discrete data. If enabled by the PDMP, the State Indicators section of the Patient Report provides additional information to aid healthcare professionals (HCPs) in their patient assessment and medical decision-making.
If enabled by the PDMP, Additional Indicators (also referred to as “Red Flag Indicators” due to the red icon that displays next to the indicator text) present on the Patient Report to identify when a patient has met or exceeded an additional risk indicator set by the PDMP.
HCPs use State Indicators to further review details in the patients prescription history as they attend to the patients. State Indicators are intended to aid, not replace, medical decision-making. None of the information presented should be used as sole justification for providing or not providing medications. |
There are three (3) Additional Indicators:
- More than 5 controlled substance providers in a 365 days period
- More than 4 pharmacies that dispense controlled substances in any 90-day period
- More than 40 morphine milligram equivalent (MME) over the previous 2 years and having total prescription(s) for more than 100 (MME) at any time during the previous 2 years
For questions on what indicators users have available, please reach out to the applicable PDMP. Contact information for PDMP administrators can be found in the PDMP Contact Information help article. Additionally, resource pages for each PDMP can be found here. |
Additionally, PDMP administrators may have resources available to users on the Patient Report under Other/Tools Metrics > State & CDC Resources. The State & CDC Resources section provides a series of PDMP & CDC documents pertaining to both providers and patients.
Not all users will have resources available in the State & CDC Resources section as this is a supplemental feature. Please contact the applicable PDMP administrator for additional information on CDC resources. |
