Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an optional PDMP-enabled feature that requires users to verify their identity using two or more factors for authentication before gaining access to PMP AWARxE. The enablement of MFA provides an extra layer of security to protect against unauthorized access.
MFA Registration Setup
After a user has selected the Submit & Continue option during account registration, the user will be presented with the Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication page.

At this point, the user has the ability to update their email address or phone number that was entered during their account registration.

If the user verified their email upon account creation, a green Email Verified notification will display next to the Email option. Users may continue to use their verified email address, or they can update their email. If a user updates their email address for MFA, it will also change the email address associated with the user's PMP AWARxE account, and therefore, their username. Users should select the checkbox next to their desired delivery method to receive a verification code and click Continue. Users can select both email and mobile delivery methods, if desired.
After selecting their method for authentication, a verification code will be delivered to the user's mobile phone and/or email. To verify, the user should enter the code on the Verify screen.

Users may not receive a verification code from the same phone number every time a verification code is requested. Sample Verification Code Text Message: If a user receives a verification code or email that they did not initiate, they should contact the PDMP immediately. |
Upon entering the verification code, the user will be logged into their PMP AWARxE account.

Logging in with MFA
Users with MFA enabled on their PMP AWARxE account will be prompted to verify their identity upon logging into PMP AWARxE.

Users may be required to re-authenticate every day or on another cadence as determined by the PDMP administrator. If a user receives a verification code or email that they did not initiate, they should contact the PDMP immediately. |

Updating MFA Delivery Methods
To update MFA delivery methods, visit Updating Account Information and follow instructions to change the email address or mobile phone number associated with the user's PMP AWARxE account.
